Getting Started

This guide walks you through unboxing, initialization, securing your seed, using Trezor Suite, sending/receiving crypto, and advanced custody tips.

Unboxing & inspection

Check tamper-evident seals and package contents. Never initialize a device that seems compromised.

Initialization Steps

  1. Create or Restore wallet on the device.
  2. Connect to Trezor Suite and update firmware.
  3. Generate your recovery seed on-device only.
  4. Write the seed on the recovery card or metal plate.
  5. Confirm seed words on device and test restore if possible.
Note: Never store your seed digitally or share it with anyone.

PIN & optional passphrase

Set a strong PIN and optionally a passphrase for hidden wallets. Document recovery carefully.

Transaction verification

Always verify addresses and amounts on-device before sending.

Backup & durability

Keep multiple backups, ideally metal, in separate secure locations.

Warning: Suspected exposure of your seed requires creating a new wallet immediately.
